Unravelled

Everyday Lines is the creative practice of Naarm-based artist Lauren Ericksen. Working across bold, colourful paintings and simple yet expressive line drawings, her work explores themes of identity, intimacy, and connection. Lauren brings her distinct visual language into the world of tattooing, offering wearable art that celebrates softness, strength, and self-expression. Her multidisciplinary approach spans illustration, fine art, and body art, blurring the boundaries between gallery and everyday life.

Feminine Leisure is a series of paintings by Naarm-based artist Lauren Ericksen (Everyday Lines), exploring moments of ease, autonomy, and unapologetic presence. Through bold colour palettes and fluid, expressive forms, each work depicts women taking up space. Softly, powerfully, and entirely for themselves.

The 2023 piece Let the Day Melt Away, created for the group exhibition Welcome Home, captures the quiet intimacy of unwinding at the end of the day. In warm, dreamy tones, a woman lies on a rug beneath the stars, bra off and smoke in hand, fully at ease in her own skin.

Tangled and Unraveled (2025), created for the group exhibition Dinner Party celebrating International Women’s Day, portray figures who are indulgent and unfiltered. From playfully devouring pasta to calmly holding eye contact amid chaos, they are not posed for the viewer’s gaze. They exist wholly for themselves.

Feminine Leisure invites us to witness softness without submission, and boldness without performance. It is an ode to the slow, sensual, and liberated rituals of rest and pleasure.
