For the first time, Platform Presents is bringing this exhibition to Eora as part of Asian Heritage Week, led by Asian Hustle Network. While the week is not yet formally recognised nationwide, it remains an important moment for us to come together. It’s a chance to honour our histories, share space and recognise the depth of creative practices across our communities.
'A Family Gathering' speaks to the experience, not a set theme. It’s about bringing artists of Asian diaspora into the same room, to sit alongside one another and be seen together.
Last year, artists travelled from Sydney to Naarm to be part of this exhibition. This year, we’re bringing it to you and expanding it into a multi-arts experience. The opening night moves beyond a gallery setting, extending into a shared space with music, performances, market stalls and interactive works.
This is a space to contribute to something bigger than an individual practice. A moment of gathering, visibility and connection.

Join us for the opening night of ‘A Family Gathering’. This exhibition celebrates Asian Heritage Week, bringing together 20+ artists across painting, sculpture, textiles, photography, new media and more.
This is a multi-arts experience that moves between gallery and gathering. Inside, the large indoor warehouse space will transform with artworks, installations, DJs, market stalls and spaces to connect throughout the night.
