CHIPPENDALE
12TH - 14TH JUNE
ASIAN HERITAGE WEEK (SYD/EORA)
Artist & Stallholder Applications Now Open
You’re invited to our ‘Family Gathering’
in Eora/Sydney
For the first time, Platform Presents is bringing this exhibition to Eora as part of Asian Heritage Week, led by Asian Hustle Network. While the week is not yet formally recognised nationwide, it remains an important moment for us to come together. It’s a chance to honour our histories, share space and recognise the depth of creative practices across our communities.
'A Family Gathering' speaks to the experience, not a set theme. It’s about bringing artists of Asian diaspora into the same room, to sit alongside one another and be seen together.
Last year, artists travelled from Sydney to Naarm to be part of this exhibition. This year, we’re bringing it to you and expanding it into a multi-arts experience. The opening night moves beyond a gallery setting, extending into a shared space with music, performances, market stalls and interactive works.
This is a space to contribute to something bigger than an individual practice. A moment of gathering, visibility and connection.
We’re now opening applications for:
• Exhibiting Artists
• Market Stallholders
This is a 3-day pop-up exhibition held from 12–14 June in Chippendale, with a ticketed opening night on Saturday featuring DJs, performances and stalls.
For artists, works are open in medium and subject. This is a salon-style hang, meaning works will be presented closely together in a layered format.
For stallholders, you’ll be part of the opening night courtyard experience, sitting alongside music and the exhibition crowd.
This opportunity is open to creatives of Asian diaspora across all disciplines.
Selected participants will be part of a curated program celebrating Asian Heritage Week in Eora.
